I love this app because it does just what I need at an affordable price. The worst part however, is that it randomly stops working and shuts down on me right at the start of an important presentation! I have it installed on four iPads that I use for sales presentations. Works well most times, but on various occasions I tap the icon to open it, the app blinks as if opening, then shuts down and takes me back to the iPad Home Screen until I either reinstall it or it somehow updates itself later when I’m back on Wi-Fi. Truly frustrating at times and I hope the developers can fix this seemingly small issue.
I’ve been trying to get in touch with the app developers through email and phone and they have been unresponsive. My company uses Apple Business Manager and we can’t use the app because of the in-app purchases so we need a “b2b” version. Can someone please get back to me? Rating this as 1 star to get someone’s attention—will update it once hear back from the developers
This app is easily to acquire, but it is inexplicably difficult to “unsubscribe”. In fact, i think i am still subscribed and can get not help unsubscribing.
Conference Pad gives my presentations a polished, profession look. It's hard for my attendees to not pay close attention when they're wowed by the app! The ability to easily jump to any page in the presentation & highlight with the laser pointer is a big plus.
It would be so much better if there was a file system for the .pdf’s. I have about 50 in there and it’s impossible to find what I’m looking for. Thanks!
This app has made my career.
This app shares a PDF...that might be worth $2.99. This subscription based pricing is ridiculous! $100 per year to share a PDF? I’ll just post it on my website and my clients can download it. Oh no! They might read ahead...so what! There is no app worth $100 a year unless it miraculously makes me breakfast every morning.
This app won’t allow me to cancel this subscription
Rather than print handouts for client meetings (cumbersome) or do a PPT/KEY presentations, we give low-end iPads to 2-to-4 clients at meetings, then we control the presentation from an iPhone-all via Bluetooth. We used to give people a printed report with 15 or 20 pages and they would invariably "read ahead," not paying attention to the reports we were trying to review at the time. Now I control when the page turns. I can annotate in real time, "broadcasting" my impromptu, in-meeting notes to all of the "slave" iPads. This is exactly what I have been seeking.
Wonderful for client presentations and manageability! The update is great too. We love the freedom of control the app provides
Needs a subscription even for sharing with one person.
Needs an update as the app does not work anymore with the new iOS. Will take this down once updated.
It doesn't play any file with iOS 10
I travel 360 days a year with only an iPad. No way for me to load my new PDF documents onto the iPad without a computer.
I was a hard core user of Electric Slide for about 3 years. A very fine day, the developer quit updating and debugging the app and, as the iOS improved, this app slowly faded away. I have been looking for a alternative for a couple of months after I got tired to contact the Electric Slide developer for months without success. Even Apple was involved and no sign from the developer. I have tested this software quite a bit lately and perfect Bluetooth interaction. Simple pdf upload and perfect offline functionality. To be perfect, it could broadcast over the web like Electric Slide use to on the good old days. It was very handy for more interactive conference calls. Hopefully the developer of this one keep the good track record of updating and quick support. I read the reviews and made my bet. Jackpot. Don't hesitate to buy it if you need to make offline meetings with a couple of iPads. It is definitely a great one.
My company uses this app to present during meetings to our clients. We use one iPad to present, while each of our clients has an iPad (all connected) in front of them that advances to the next screen based upon the presenter. Prepping the iPads before the meeting is very quick and easy. You simply choose to open a PDF in Conference Pad, and if all the other iPads are connected to the first iPad, the PDF will be transferred ("Participants Keep PDFs" button must be on). This is the best PDF Presentation App available. If there is an issue, the creator Evan is available and willing to help find a solution. There was a bug that prevented the PDFs from downloading onto each iPad and I emailed Evan and he asked me a few questions and put a patch through to Apple to resolve this. It is now working wonderfully and I use it every day. I highly recommend this app!
This is a great app and we use it a lot for business. Ideal for giving sales presentations and allowing the customer to hold the tablet as the sales rep controls from this phone. Love this app!
This is an AMAZING PROGRAM. I am in the entertainment field and have to do may presentations in one on one settings. In the old days, I would print out pages and give handouts. With CONFERENCE PAD, I set up my full size version iPad, place it in the dock of my Logitech keyboard, turn it to face a client and amaze them by controlling the presentation on my iPhone. This program does everything it says it can do. Bravo! BUY IT! We just had to do a presentation in China. So we placed the Chinese version on the iPad and the English version on the iPhone (both files must be named the same document) and our CEO can read and look at the English slides while our Chinese partners can see the Mandarin version of the presentation. WHAT AN PLUS for multi-language presentations. Great job Doc!
Beware this app only works with PDF and not desktop sharing from iPad to iPad.
This app does exactly what it says it will do. Statement of the obvious to some, but I've found it to be rare that developers offer simplicity of use and elegance of design in their product. It just works. A new app well worth the money. A few things they could enhance, but as more people use it, I'm sure the ideas will flow in. Nothing that diminishes the value now, but hey, we're Americans, we always want more. Would love to have a feature to remove the PDF from target iPads/phones(meaning non presenters) when the presenter concludes the presentation. Go ahead, buy it... Good apps deserve success.
This app is great for group presentations and works best when you connect all the devices through a network. Bluetooth connectivity can be iffy, but by buying an Apple AirPort Express and creating a network, we can plug in the AirPort at the meeting location and then connect all 9 of our iPads and my iPhone to the app and control the flow of our meetings with no lag. If you go the AirPort Express route to connect your devices, all you need to do is create a new network; don't extend an existing network. Internet access is not required for the iPads to connect via the AirPort Express.
Today I purchased this for use on my ipad and iphones. I ran a presentation to group of 5 users… it went ok but here is some feedback 1)The pointer feature needs to be strengthened. Many time the pointer is hard to activate after “V”ng to expand a PDF .. so I think you need to have the option to permanently turn on the pointer .. also on another similar app .. they have option of leaving an underline .. changing the width and color of the underlines .. then button to wipe or undo all marks … 2)Stability of the session across IPAD .. both wifi and Bluetooth .. All the iPads were within 10 feet .. the wifi would not keep all connected .. so I switched to Bluetooth .. this was better but still one iPad dropped every 15 minutes and had to re-add .. really the connections need to be more forgiving and reconnect automatically Please consider these enhancements / feature requests
I feel that the previous reviewer missed the point. The way i use it is to have a "Guest iPad" for us to bring into a meeting. I have the Guest and my iPhone or iPad ready before the meeting. Both sync as bluetooth, auto lock off on both, check battery and the guest device with the PDF(s) installed already. I then introduce myself and give them my guest iPad and use mine to control the meeting. I even use the "laser pointer" to circle text. (i would like it to have the Magnifying Glass so I can see the text better, maybe in a new version?). I still have the binder that we used just in in case and have a few brochures to leave and able to send the PDF to the mail. I feel that it looks professional for us.
I have just been on a week long road show to see clients, typically 2 or 3 in a small conference room and used conference pad for the first time. Any Fund Manager, Banker or Marketing rep should take a look at this app. Instead of having to carry 50 hard copy presentations we took 5 iPads and loaded 2 PDF presentations. We had one iPad mini as the "controller" and 4 iPads (2 original iPads, an iPad 3 and 4) we handed to the clients. All iPads worked perfectly via blue tooth. Very stable connection and no technical issue of any kind during the week. To my surprise we were the first group to present to the clients via iPad. All of them liked it, especially the fact we controlled the presentation through our "controller iPad" took them by surprise. We provided soft copies via email after the meeting. Great app will not go back to the old school hard copy presentations! Some suggestions for improvements: 1. Include a function so you can select or set the controller iPad. It seemed sometimes random which iPad becomes the controller 2. Remove the tap on screen function to move the slide forward. Especially when using the pointer you by accident move the slides forward and it disrupts your presentation flow 3. Add swipe up and down to forward slides (in addition to the swipe left right) 4. Add tap on screen function that zooms in on the area of the slide you tap. Tap twice to zoom back out. 5. Presentations are PDF so would be nice if you could mark up the presentation on the controller iPad, using a Bamboo stylus and have these mark ups appear on the clients iPad. Markings can be removed after presentation is finished to the client. 6. Maybe add a function so you can unlock the presentation for clients from the controller iPad so the clients can look through the presentation at their leisure I look forward to the next version!
Purchased this after reading descriptions on some blogs thinking that it would allow me to mirror my iPad to other devices. Only after purchasing did I realize it only allows you to share a PDF. Lame.
How can I convince random people i'm in meetings with to pay for this purchased app just so they can see what i'm seeing? A ideal scenario would be to charge for the primary broadcast app and have a free "viewer" app that attendees could freely download and be part of the meeting without extorting more money from consumers. This app has promising features, but it's unfortunately not accessible on a mass scale. It's really disheartening.
Really? A app that is only functional as a presentation tool if every other device in the room has the app installed too? Brilliant marketing on your part. You need to have a conferencePad viewer that is free for attendees. You could also use an invitation feature so that the presentation could be viewed over the web remotely. That would make this a supremely better app. Not worth $4.99 as is.
This is a great idea. It works, but not reliably. I couldn't recommend for enterprise solution yet. I've used it to make a few departmental presentations, but it crashed a couple of times during those presentations.
A good app is easy to understand and use without a bunch of "steps.". This is not a good app
Each audience member must purchase a copy, which can get expensive. The # of users limitation prevents using the software for larger group presentations. For larger group presentations or training sessions, I found the Coaxion for iPad application to scale better.
This app is a great idea but not ready for business use. If you plan to take iPads with you to make presentations away from the office, the advertised Bluetooth connectivity is a key feature. However, it simply doesn't work, and the troubleshooting available on the developer website is not useful. I have taken my devices to an Apple Store and asked for assistance from a Genius - they confirmed that Bluetooth is working properly on the devices, and suggested I ask for a refund on this app purchase. They said the app is clearly just not functional or reliable. Disappointing.
We present investment reports of about 42 pages per quarter to retirement plan committees and were literally destroying "trees" worth of report binders, sub-section pages and paper while spending countless man hours getting all this done. Found Conference pad and it has changed our world. I was hesitant to purchase the app due to the number of poor ratings relative to the total overall ratings however, after reading all of them in detail and now using the app more than once, I can see how these people were a bit frustrated. We struggled with the sync of devices, etc. at first but after going to their website and printing out the instructions, it is working perfectly for us now. You must follow the sequence to initiate the program to the letter and I believe you will like the results. We are using WIFI (15 devices), Wireless WIFI Verizon Hotspot (limited to five devices) and bluetooth (also five devices max) without issue. We believe we will save the price of the five new iPads in one quarter just in saved man hours, and countless trees as well. If your presentations are as important as ours are to get right, a great back up plan to just transfer/send via iTunes or e mail the PDF you plan to present to all the devices. If for some reason Conference Pad lets you down, just get the PDF up and running on all the iPads and tell the audience when to go to the next page.....not the control you have with the app, no very cool laser pointer to use, but a great back up plan when "oops" is simply unacceptable.....so far no need for us to use plan b. Thanks Evan Schoenberg, MD, now if you can just add the ability to write on the presentation, highlight, etc via the master iPad!! I think more people don't rate this app to keep it a secret, it's got a big "cool factor" over the competition!!
We are testing this app to render exhibits in litigation in an effort to reduce paper use and it has been impressive.
Works as advertised. Easy to connect between iPhone and iPad. Well worth the money. The ability to jump to a selected page is very handy. Bluetooth support is invaluable when wifi is not available.
No I don't know the developer. This app is the greatest. Here is why. I use Keynote for presentations from my iPad and I connect an LCD projector when a larger group. Keynote works OK but once in presentation mode you CANNOT zoom in and out to show details on your slide. With this you can. Granted it is made to use your iPhone as a "mini control" to an iPad and that works fine. BUT, I like to use it on it's own on the iPad to zoom in an out. FANTASTIC APP!!!
I love this app! Now that Readdle will allow you to open a PDF into Conference, there is a wireless ability to get the brief onto the iPad or iPhone. I generally hook up the iPhone to a projector and use the iPad in my hand, but it is interchangeable. Sometimes for a one or two person audience I just set the iPad in front of them and brief. Works flawless with Bluetooth or wifi. Slightly faster with wifi. Everyone I is use this briefing technique with is amazed. Using it today to brief a four jet flyover.
This is a promising app, but it currently is too buggy and unreliable to be used professionally. For example, it interminably loses its connection to iPads, as happened to us recently during an important presentation. I look forward to rating this app five stars when these bugs are fixed in a future version.
There's potential for this but how can u delete presentations once u r done with them? No menu or file system of any kind. $5 is a lot of money for something so limited.
Pretty Glichy, IPADS Seem to have trouble connecting via blue tooth and the app causes the display to be choppy and disfigured when you magnify or shrink it. In addition there is no help feature...or at least I can't find it yet!
This app does work as advertised and would be a great niche solution for a board room or class room save a couple of issues: 1. When viewing PowerPoint and zooming in and out a doubling occurs. 2. Having a folder structure to the files you can show would be nice to segment different classes and materials for the presenter to review. 3. Having a auto connect to the last presenter iPad as an option would be nice as folks could pop in and out of the app without needing to do anything; i.e. being able to go right back to where the presentation is currently at. Once addressed this will be quite an interesting collaborative app and a solution for a lot of meetings replacing traditional methods of presenting documents.
A very useful and impressive app. Once you figure out how to designate which device is the master it's very easy to use. You only need the preso on the master device, by the way, the app distributes it wirelessly to all of the slaves. It's very handy that this works over Bluetooth. No hassles with WiFi in the conference room. But note that you don't have to pair the devices, just enable BT and open the app. Very cool. The only downside to this app is that it threatens to overshadow your presentation as your audience wonders what sort of futuristic technology you have at your disposal. :) It would be nice if a free slave-only version were also available so you could have people install this app on their own devices, and optionally keep the a copy of your preso.
Clean interface. However the presentation gets stuck on the viewer's iPad, and then the viewer is then kicked out of the application. Until an update comes out to fix the problem, the app is useless.
Connects to another device (I connected my iPad and iPhone 4) but will not display any PDF on connected device. Error message that all files are corrupt. Useless app.
This works well with two iPads but falls apart when moving to three or more. I am able to control one iPad with another but beyond that it does not work for me. Alerted developer a week ago and have not received response. Have turned off wi-fi, have also turned off cellular network but it did not resolve the issue. Will be looking for an alternate solution for multiple iPads.
I was asked to present in front of 200 people at a computer crime conference. I loaded the free "loader" onto my MAC OS 10.6 and uploaded my PDF presentation onto my iPhone. The presentation was 60 slides and 6 MB large. I then installed the app onto my iPad and connected to my IPhone to control the app as a remote control. Then I attached a projector to the iPad and completed the entire presentation (2 hours) without a hitch. Great job. Only one note. If you don't disable your sleep function on your iPad it will go to sleep on you. Maybe a feature request to auto disable the sleep when the app is active. Well worth the money!!!!!!
I can connect from both devices, however it just sits there saying "Connected. Awaiting a presentation. No documentation or support! Bumr.
Nothing works. Cannot see any iphone or ipad bluetooth signals. There is no manual or instructions other than enable bluetooth on both devices. The app searches for other devices but never finds them althouth both devices have bluetooth enabled. I checked the bluetooth function at the Apple store where I purchased the ipad and they said my ipad bluetooth was working but they could not get the app to connect either. Sounds like a good app if it would only work.
